Mission
St. Teresa of Avila Haiti Mission is seeking to expand its membership and require no special skills BUT an open heart, prayerful spirit, and a will to serve the least of our brothers and sisters.
St. Teresa of Avila responded to the call of evangelization bearing witness to Jesus Christ through forming a twinning relationship with a sister parish, St. Antoine Catholic Church in Jeremie, Haiti. We strive to live out the gospel of Matthew 25:35-40. We seek to proclaim Christ during worship, and service with our brothers and sisters in Jeremie, and local Haitian communities in the Archdiocese of Washington, DC (ADW). The ministry mission is two- fold, educational and medical.
The church achieves its’ goals through annual mission trips to Haiti, financial support (Project EACH), working closely with other twinning ADW parishes, and worship/fellowship with local parishes having significant Haitian parishioners. The mission trips are held to celebrate liturgy with St. Antoine Catholic Church, visit and assist with St. Antoine School and host medical clinics for the community.
There is an ongoing Haitian Corner in the Monsignor Clark Hall (MCH) of the church for more information about the ministry. T
